means of projecting political outcomes, Republicans would have been dominating Congress and would own the White House.

That fact that they've done as well as they have over these last few decades has as much to do with the haplessness of the Democratic election apparatus. And that has as much to do with the Democratic Party trying to play more to the center then to its base.

And if "Want to know why the President doesn't call you first?" is accurate, he can go fuck himself find votes somewhere else.

I guess I'll have to thank DemFromCT for making that clear. And for helping undermine the Liberal identity a little more.

    •  well, i said in the post it wasn't good news (0+ / 0-)

and I didn't like it. I also said it is what it is. You are making an artifical distinction between the center and the base. The base is more centered in this center-left party than we'd like.

We are influential but a smaller group than we would prefer, and the way to maximize the influence is to play it like Nancy Pelosi does (and she;'s a master at it)... less whining, less demands, more strategic withhold, more awareness that those that consider themselves  moderates need a place at the table as well as us, since they often share the same goals.

At no time have I ever suggested it's enjoyable.
