    •  I'm looking at their list of demands... (8+ / 0-)

and a few things pop out. I wonder why the authorities prohibited some of these things(beyond the basic, nasty, desire to dehumanize the inmates)?

Things like wall calendars and access to adequate sunlight.
      Not unreasonable requests!

      •  Dehumanization is so common, and it (6+ / 0-)

is hard to convey in real terms to people who have never been incarcerated.

I have been incarcerated for 5 days and a month, respectively, serious chump change in the scheme of things.  And the dehumanization, even at that level, is absolute.  I ache/grieve/rage over how the dehumanization of people in far worse ways for years/lifetimes is permitted in a society that imagines it is "decent."

No.  Fight on we must and will.

And in the end, we will win.  I can't tell you how or why, I just know that we. will.  win.
