    ...then there would be no such thing as "classified" or "top secret" info when it comes to running a government. Our expectations of infinite "transparency" do not match reality. Transparency works to a degree. Beyond that the work is done by the elected representatives. People shoud not have to micromanage everything. We have to trust the elected representatives and give them chance to do their work.

      to believe their eyes, instead of making up complicated and unsupported story lines that explain away otherwise objectionable or inconsistent conduct.

      There's seeing.

      Then there's believing.

      We have so much tied up in the mythos of Obama as a supposed  leader for democracy reborn, and such an dire and urgent need for a reborn democracy, that we are unwilling to admit the error on the first because that means we are (supposedly) without hope on the second.  

      We'd rather dream the American Dream than fight to live it or to give it to our kids. What a shame. What an awful, awful shame.
