That for conservatives the most important issue is to protect and advance conservatism itself. So really conservatives don't focus on a list of issues like liberals do. Rather, they focus on principles and values.  Right now, for conservatives, the biggest threat to conservatism is Barack Obama. So the number one priority is to defeat him.

When he gets beat in 2012 and the Dems are in the minority in Congress, they will actually have a harder time getting anything done because the Dems will be in their natural favorite spot....in a foxhole lobbing grenades.

Leading is hard, but they can stonewall with the best of 'em.

I don't remember them being so effective against Bushco. (Except when they suggested privatizing Social Security. Back when talking about changes to one of the most successful government programs ever was considered a nonstarter. I remember thinking, well, at least we can all agree on that.)

My take on it is: Democrats don't do anything well as a party. Occasionally, we get lucky. But most of the time when we get "lucky" we're just getting screwed again.

Obama".  That could only come from a died-in-the-wool Obama supporter.

So "liberals" supposedly just want to say they got a win regardless of what they won even if it is conservatism, while conservatives actually care about advancing issues...no wonder we're where we are at as we get conservatism from "liberals" as well as conservatism from conservatives.
