  •  I live in Gabby's district. The shooting was (11+ / 0-)

at my local Safeway.  The Teepers not only threatened her, they went visibly "armed and dangerous" to her rallies.  Scared me, but it didn't scare Gabby.

I want to tell the world that Tucson came together in LOVE after the shooting and took a string stand for kindness, cooperation, and civility.  Listening to each other before responding.

And we are so proud of her today we can just burst.  I had to watch the rerun on every channel.

I did not vote for her the first term (nor against her) - I had ardently supported a wonderful progressive who could not get elected, and I just couldn't get to "unity" in time, because Gabby is far to the right of me on many issues.  Thank God my vote was not "the deciding vote."

I have since come to truly appreciate her fairness, her intelligence, her energy and dedication, her willingness to hear all sides and I am so very grateful she is back.

    Thanks for this diary.

had been caught with his mouth open again by saying that Tea Partiers were terrorists but felt he needed to walk that comment back as "inappropriate" I knew I had to not only agree with our VP but perhaps even go a bit further by likening them to the Dark Ages and Barbarian marauders. I also wanted to point out that in fact they are terrorist whose violent threats contributed to the violent and insane act in Tucson directed at Gabby and encouraged by SheWhoWillNotBeNamed, the quita from Wasilla and Caribou killa.

Biden has to worry about calling the folks who bring guns to other peoples rallies "terrorists" cause its not "appropriate"? PLEASE!

These guys are inhuman insaniacs who used to whine about not getting their 2nd amendment options whenever they couldn't beat a political opponent at the ballot box like in a democracy or something.

Your rep's got a lot of spirit, I'll say that much.

      Thanks for your comment.

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).

successful in implanting their view of the TP as the Romans and the Church was in maligning the vast migration of people, which it in many ways triggered.
I think the TP compares to the Romans more than the migrating tribes as they viewed themselves as innately superior to the barbarian tribes and even country dwellers as all of civilization was centered in Rome.  The Church adopted this POV.
However, how much destruction and suffering did Caesar unleash upon Gaul compared to the suffering of the Romans from barbarian hordes or how does the destruction of Carthage compare to the sack of Rome?

In order for Rome to reach its self described pinnacle of civilization and to maintain it for centuries, how much suffering and destruction did they visit upon their neighbors?  The Church was  the custodian of knowledge for centuries and they cheered on the homicidal and hedonistic Romans while carefully editing which history survived

    •  Glad for her, not the vote (1+ / 0-)

Happy for the person.  Not so pleased with the vote. Distracted from the issue - something we did not need.  I am sure there would have been a better opportunity to resurface.  In fact, I can't imagine the impact of a "no" vote - but then, she would not have come to the floor for that. Thrilled with her personal recovery.  That is all.  No political heroics and points, please.
