  •  So true. (3+ / 0-)

Through this entire process, I have been waiting for the unveiling of the great political maneuver that would show the president as a brilliant tactician, luring his enemies into a maze from which there would be no escape.

Unfortunately, the man we elected appears to be a peewee football coach:  fun and interesting to meet at a picnic but without the requisite backbone or leadership skills to move up to the big game.

I have never been so bitterly disappointed in a president.  A man who held so much promise and delivered so little.

The only remedy that I see for 2012 is to work diligently at securing democratic control of the House.

football coach. I too kept waiting for him to pull a magic rabbit out of his hat after I was stunned to hear him say he'd  put the New Deal on the chopping block and was pissed no-one in the GOP would jump at it. Obama seems to have decided the key for his re-election are centrist Independents not Progressive Democrats who put him where he is today.

Still the notion of primarying Obama now is about as self defeating as taking on Carter was in 1980 (we wound up with Reagan).

I agree with you that what progressives need to do is come out strong to get liberal Dems elected to the House and Senate, we'll let Obama ride along. With a Super Majority in both houses progressive will be showing the WH how to lead at that point from a place of strength.

We need to get him re=-elected, THEN beat him  up.

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).

vote for Obama a second time.  Of course, if Obama were in my shoes, he would vote for the democratic candidate, whoever he was, even if he hated him.  That is his pragmatic way.
In this case he may be right.  But unlike Obama, I know where to draw the line in the sand.

But I'm not sure Obama does all this capitulation to the Republicans because he is a screw up or doesn't know what is going on. He knows exactly what is going on and what is at steak. I think he just doesn't have really progressive ideals  or they are very weak because he certainly doesn't fight for them.

But let something get in the way of his re-election process and all of a sudden he is a tough negotiator.  He seems career driven but doesn't really have a progressive heart.

Yea, let's beat on him for that phony campaign he ran.
