  •  CorinaR, I understood your point. (7+ / 0-)

I'm sure many others do as well.  It's sad that the majority however pretend not to see your point.  It's sad that they would prefer looking past the obvious fact that Obama's recent weakness has left him open to gloating from "Hitler wasn't so bad" types like Buchanan.  It's sad that they would go into hyperbole on steroids mode by bringing up rape.  Or say things like "all us coloreds have it coming to us" to another minority member.

The ironic thing is that while I doubt Buchanan would be running his racist trap if Obama didn't cave, I also doubt online Kossacks would be so quick to attack each other if Obama didn't cave.

of course the internet gives us a chance to be particularly snarky.  I was guilty of that too after the last election.  But this is ridiculous. It's obvious that Corina is NOT a racist, nor a Buchanan supporter, nor guilty of jumping on Obama for "governing while black."

Unfortunately on crappy nights like this one, many would rather pretend like they've caught a troll.  They'd rather rack up "rec points" for hyperbole than stay on point.  Welcome to Kos and every other site that features forums :)

one uses is important. The Republicans may not have respect for the President, if they perceive him to be weak, but that is no justification for racial innuendo. In Buchanan's case he could have chosen different words himself, but that may have been a bridge too far for that bigot..
