    in that "progressives" are outside the U.S. political mainstream.  That's not a bad thing, I find myself there as well, but don't think that one man can deliver political victory when you have been unable to sell your ideas to the country.

      in poll after poll people are in favor of, but then in some other poll (maybe even the SAME poll sometimes!) they turn around and call themselves moderates or conservatives?

      It's a marketing issue.  In that sense "liberal" or "progressive" has not been sold to the country.  But I think it might be more about advertising than facts, about appearances than truth.

        People want things from government, but there's no sense of shared investment.  People have no idea they already paid, and they are entitled to what they paid for.  We need to let them see who's actually cheating them.
