  •  Here's a list of USAs, showing only five Bush (8+ / 0-)

holdovers. One of those holdovers is Patrick Fitzgerald. Another is a holdover because Obama's nominee was denied by the Senate.

The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much; it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little. -FDR

    •  I think there are officially two Bush holdovers (6+ / 0-)

Patrick Fitzgerald. I dont think many on the left are too upset about him staying on. The other one is Jim Letten, in Eastern Louisiana, who was recommended to stay on by Mary Landrieu.

having holdovers, not just the USAs.  Ie Geithner, Gates, Petraeus, etc. Sorry that wasn't more clear.  I don't have a problem with Fitz, obviously. There are also senior Bush holdovers in the DOJ, like this one

Andrew Sullivan discovered that one of the three Obama Justice Department attorneys who wrote and filed the anti-gay DOMA brief last night is W. Scott Simpson, a Mormon Bush holdover who was awarded by Alberto Gonzales for his defense of the Partial Birth Abortion act.

Now there's going to be an appointee who apparently might as well be a Bushie.  All the Bushies should be gone, that's why Barack Obama was elected.  For a change, not more of the SOS.

Now, I realize this is not all the President fault.  Maybe little of it is, since he is depending on his staff to be competent and give him good information.  The Teabagger deal smells, though.  It really does.

        •  Geithner's NOT a holdover (3+ / 0-)

Tim "What?  You mean I'm supposed to pay FICA taxes on my earnings?" Geithner was president of the NY Federal Reserve Bank, sitting on his overpaid butt during the Bush Bubble, from 2003 until January 26, 2009.

Geithner assumed the office of SecTreas on that date.

          •  I disagree (0+ / 0-)

The President of the NY Federal Reserve Bank is appointed by the Board of the NY Federal Reserve Bank, and approved by the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, all of whom are Presidential appointees.

for helping inflict one of the biggest financial disasters in the history of the world, in terms of value and impact.

And though I understand the "make the ones who broke it fix it" theory, the fact is, he didn't fix it, and has contributed to the coming second crash through his leadership decisions if not directly.

This is what happens when you appoint irresponsible con artists to positions of trust.  That was poor judgment on the part of the President.

These people almost destroyed the country.  Don't give them positions in your own administration.  For crying out loud, a kindergartener could have figured that one out.
