  •  there are plenty of examples where (0+ / 0-)

"progress" turned to regression in history.  It must be fought for and defended every step of the way.  Being led by the nose into bad policy deal after bad policy deal will not create jobs, will not get us close to single payer, will not fix the environment, will not repair our infrastructure, or fix our campaign finance system.

    •  staying home from the voting booth (0+ / 0-)

Guarantees that we won't get any of those things.

Quitting after one reversal of fortunes also guarantees it.

That's my point, and the point I have been trying to make all day.

Just in case you forgot today: REPUBLICANS VOTED TO END MEDICARE. AND THEY'LL DO IT AGAIN.

      •  that is a non-sequitor, isn't it? (0+ / 0-)

where did staying home come into this picture?

What this is about is tactics.  We can't discuss tactics around here without someone panicking because they think the image of someone is being tarnished.  It isn't about people or personalities, but about policy and what it takes to move what we want forward.

What of what we want was moved forward in this?  It seems odd to talk about progress while the entire debt ceiling debate shows that we are regressing on all fronts.
