is gorgeous, with Brown/Pembroke and awesome sunsets.

If you want to do a day trip to places other than Bristol/Newport or  Narragansett/Block Island, there's Woods Hole to the southeast and the Mashantucket Pequot things to the west in Ledyard, Connecticut (near Norfolk).

That has the Foxwoods casino, but what is actually worth visiting is the Mashantucket Pequot Indian Museum just a few hundred yards from the casino (but separated by a nice bit of pine forest).   The museum has become the cultural center of the reviving Native American life and presence in New England.   They hold ever-growing pow-wows there, host artists, have a wonderfully curated set of exhibits (those wigwams look comfortable!), and put some of the profit of the casino to good use in making a really touching and glorious building.  It's a real statement and has strong Indian cultural feel.

The museum restaurant also had excellent food, much of it interesting and unique with Native touches and tastes.  I had some wonderful blueberry and huckleberry pudding with pecans the last time I visited, it was heavenly.
