  •  Reagan was a symptom not a cause (0+ / 0-)

the actual crushing of the middle class started Aug. 15, 1971 with another republican taking us off the gold standard and turning the economy into a fiat currency ponzi scheme and essentially power was transferred to bankers and corporations:

The chart of Average Hourly Earnings 1964-2008 clearly depicts the disenfranchisement of the middle class by this act of another corrupt republican simply by executive order (please read):

Dennis Kucinichs' HR 6550 is mentioned in the article below as a real solution.  Please note that most articles in the investment realm's I read are written by conservative writers who have drunk too much of the republican talking point kool-aid about tax cuts and other crap spewed as financial wisdom (will never work, only crush more of the middle class -- the intent of the GOP and money power with the enablement of pseudo democrats we way too many of) , so this article is notable in that fact

“Dennis Kucinich says Congress must direct the Treasury Department to issue US Notes (like Abe Lincoln's Greenbacks, but which would also be issued in electronic deposit form) to pay off the National debt. He says the US must also gradually increase the reserve ratio that private banks are required to maintain from 10% to 100%, thereby gradually ending banksters ability to create money out of thin air and then loan this funny money out at interest…
