    So how much does it co$t to get to that island? Just wondering if it is much less than Galapogos or if everything is built on couples touring, of which I am only half.

      We did it as part of a larger tour.  The total cost per person which included roundtrip airfare Quito-Manta (a coastal city), ground transport from Manta to Puerto Lopez and back, three nights plus meals at a hotel, and the trip to the island and other local land excursions was about $450 (this was a group of 13 people, for an individual I imagine it would be a bit more).  Which is in the same ball park as airfare from Quito to the Galapagos.

      You can't stay on the island.  The whale watching trips take you out there and you can hike around for a few hours and then come back.
