  •  Was told I should get one of those pedometers (7+ / 0-)

and try to get above 4 mi a day. I guess there's a lot I should do.

Spent 4 hours this morning walking around or sitting in 90 degrees sun out on the prairie no water. Don't know how being par boiled helps diet. Son got a root beer pop afterwards, wow that tasted syrupy.

I blame it all on computers.

That's what I'm using. It only took me a week to figure it out. :)

I downloaded for my iPhone; supposedly it also uses GPS so I can get a general idea of how far I walk, not just steps. I'm now crocheting a case so I can carry the phone around my neck; not only will that help in using it when I'm wearing something without pockets, I'll be able to listen to my music or talk radio when walking, as I have several radio apps available on the iPhone.

of water -- the reusable type, with the built in straw -- that I keep in the refrigerator at all times; when I finish one, I fill it at the tap and put it in the fridge then take out the other one. I find that if I get enough water, that keeps me from feeling really blahed out.

I need to start a good walking routine in the morning, and I want to join a local gym so I can swim 2-3 days a week (if spouse and I go to NN12, I'm considering registering at the hotel with the indoor pool; it opens at 5:30 am which would mean early morning laps before breakfast).
