There's only about 4 restaurants I can eat at in my state, and Denny's and iHop are not among the gluten-free ones.  'Trying' restaurants out is dangerous if you really do need to be gluten-free.

Since Daily Kos is doing a pissing contest now, here's my track record: replace Harman, (2006) dump Reid as ML, (2007) Edwards is a phony (07), replace David Wu, (2008) the 2009-2011 congress wouldn't act progressively without a strong platform (08).

forgot to tell the cook, is all.  Of course the pancakes are out of bounds.  Most restaurants can do gluten free if you ask.  Awareness has multiplied exponentially, and Gluten has been taken out of most of the spices and salad dressings since I first was disagnosed with celiac more than 15 years ago.  I find that the closer in you go to the large cities (suburban Atlanta here), the more gluten free menus you find.  But one of my favorites is Taco Bell.  Their hard shell tacos have never given me trouble (and neither has the mystery meat filling, thank goodness).  Of course eating there goes against everything the diarist is talking about, but you have to have a guilty pleasure every now and then.
