  •  Verizon and AT&T are on track to become (10+ / 0-)

a national duopoly.  They can damn well afford to pay their workers decent wages and benefits because there is very very little competition left.

Verizon and AT&T should be re-regulated, due to their duopoly status.  Once companies become a certain size and there is no longer effective competition, regulation is necessary to insure the public interest is protected.

Together, they hold the vast majority of the nation's communications portfolio.  They have a duty to the nation and to pay their workers well.

If Verizon wins this and takes away benefits from the union, watch for the virus to spread across the nation. Most corporations will emulate the chops because "where else are American workers going to find job?"  And everyone will be screwed.

Support the Verizon strikers in every way you can!
