A rail line like this would change so much in this area. I live in Hudson. My husband commutes every day from Hudson to downtown Cleveland -- an awful drive.  This plan would change everything for him, and he might actually be able to get home before 7:00 at night!

Before we came to northern Ohio, we lived in Wheaton IL. At the time, I worked in the Loop and took the train in every day. It was such a civilized way to travel to work. By the time I got into the office, I had virtually all of my daily reading done.

Kasich will be gone eventually. I think it's great what you are doing to plan for that day!

... first step is getting the "Regional HSR" (max 110mph) corridor in from Pittsburgh through Youngstown to Cleveland. That goes right through Hudson ~ Hudson is the junction between that line and the Canton/Akron/Cleveland freight corridor ~ and its not clear where the "Southeast Cleveland" station would be. Could be Hudson, could be Macedonia ... it doesn't seem to be nailed down yet.

Having that corridor developed for the Regional HSR line makes it much easier to think about restarting the a Canton / Akron / Cleveland commuter rail corridor, which should definitely have a platform at Hudson, based on how the rail line and road network line up.

But that is even further down the track than the 2015/2018 time frame for the system described in this diary.
