  •  Cheers from the partly cloudy Green Mountains. (12+ / 0-)

Cheers to all my friends in Cheers and Jeers.

Jeers to the very belated news of the death of a beloved relative.  Can't attend a funeral that happened seven months ago.  Does anyone have a time machine they'd be willing to loan me for a day or two?  I promise not to mess with the timeline.

Cheers to late night repartee from an unexpected direction.  Laughter is sometimes the best way to deal with grief.

Jeers to the very belated news of one of my brothers being in the hospital.  He lived, but not to tell me the tale.  He let a rellie who is already too busy do it.  Slacker.

Cheers to my first tomatillas of the season.  Salsa verde is not far away!

Jeers to, you guessed it, the belated news of my one and only uncle's stroke.  At least I got to call him on the phone.  The dead don't answer phones.  The living do once they've had a change of heart.

Cheers to the cohabi-tater, whose shoulders should be washed away by now.

Jeers to the death of a friend's father.  Attended the funeral yesterday.  At least I heard about this one in time.

Cheers to the folks who did the 48forEastAfrica series over the weekend.  It's never too late to donate.

Jeers to psychological and/or physical manipulation and abuse.  It's the gift that keeps on giving, from childhood right into adulthood, and sometimes beyond.

Cheers to the resident felines, who never seem to get empathy fatigue.

    Jeers to London burning.

Cheers to the resilience of plants.  If plant neglect were a jailable offence, I'd be locked up. Thankfully, my garden seems to be recovering.

Words are, in my not-so-humble opinion, our most inexhaustible source of magic. Capable of both inflicting injury, and remedying it. ~Professor Albus Dumbledore
