Your're a terrific writer and I greatly enjoyed your diary.  I've gardened in fits and starts over the years, sometimes the idea of gardening falling victim to the lack of execution.  We moved to a new house last fall with a plot in the back yard already laid out in a grid.  Good sun, couple of raised planters etc.  I thought to myself, "what excuse do you have now?"  I find myself puttering around out there all the time and my wife watches me through the kitchen window, with bemusement I assume.  My kids mess with my little micro sprinkler system but they know not to touch those blue berry bushes (unless its to eat the berries!).  Anyway, for me the garden is respite, control over a tiny aspect of my life, and the promise of healthy food for my family.  Oh and I love beets too!
