    follow any methods.  Last fall I told the neighbors I'd take any/all leaves they raked up from the trees, and I spread them over the garden area.  After the first couple of rains I turned them under just enough to weigh them down with soil so they wouldn't blow away.  In Spring I turned the soil again.  The leaves kept a lot of weeds from growing, as well.

    The only fertilizer I have used is chicken manure from the 4 hens I keep in the back yard.  Last year I fertilized, so I'm not dedicated on principle to the organic route.
