is doing what's right for her constituents, not just parroting back their prejudices.

We have the same thing going on in Texas, so I feel you on the idiots, though.

    •  I agree, but... (0+ / 0-)

She's not just parroting back their prejudices.  She said something true: Congress won't spend money so there won't be a jobs bill.

Last week, my Dem. Congressman, William Lacy Clay of St. Louis basically said, "Now that we've done this debt compromise, it's time to look at jobs."  That was just plain pandering.  Clay isn't on any committees.  He has no power and he's not going to have a jobs bill to vote on.

I would love to primary McCaskill.  I never liked her in the first place.  Unfortunately, Missouri seems to have a pretty shallow pool of Democratic talent, and we might need the "incumbent mojo" to hold the seat against Todd Akin.

I moved here after living int Texas for 20 years.  There are some wonderful people and places in Texas, but even my two years in deep-red southwestern Missouri felt like a big step up.  It's amazing how having a state income tax improves the quality of life.  While Perry is busy selling off Texas state historical sites to private owners, Missouri's are funded.

A state larger than some countries, and unwilling to put itself on a firm financial footing to benefit ALL its residents, not just the ones with their own private airfields.

        Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

As for Congress-I agree they don't want to spend money, but that's never gonna change until Democrats start to fight  for it with the vigor Republicans resist it with.

The way to change the narrative is to push your own.  Or else, she actually believes this is a good thing, and thus, she's fucking useless as a public servant.

Yeah, long term the debt needs to be paid down.  Short term, people need JOBS and dignity, and the feeling they're not all alone in their fight.

Sorry, i seem to have put on the ranty pants this morning.  Time to go help if I can with Wisconsin. :)

...if I win, I'm blanketing Missouri airwaves with issue ads until November 2012.

          Wish me luck.

P.S. I may also buy a big house.
