I wasn't clear. I was asking if these seats have been occupied by Repubs since 2006, not these particular Repubs. In other words what's the history of these seats?  Where I live in NJ, Repubs have held my legislative district for 35 years so if it flipped it would be a huge deal, that's what I am getting at.

      SD2 - Cowles - first elected 1987.
      SD8 - Darling - first elected 1992.
      SD10 - Harsdorf - first elected 2000.
      SD14 - Olsen - first elected 2004.
      SD18 - Hopper - first elected 2008.
      SD32 - Kapanke - first elected 2004.

So the two who lost, Hopper and Kapanke, have two of the three shortest tenures in their district.

To find who the previous officeholders were would take some digging.

Wikipedia shows SD2 as having been Republican since 1965, but does not have a full history of the office holders there.  So yes, it's possible that this seat has been reliably Republican for more than 50 years.

SD8 was represented by a Democrat before Darling.
