  •  I don't think there is any "under the radar" money (0+ / 0-)

anymore.  It's all out in the open and few in a position to do anything about it care or are willing to even take public notice of the extent of the problem.

I mean 20% of the entire Congress is currently on a trip to Israel, paid for by someone or other, not them or the government.

Putting Congress as a buffer between these 12 is a masterstroke of campaign financing solicitation, to the 12 and to leadership who will be "courted" to make sure the right people are on the Super Congress, is a masterstroke of isolation from voter anger.

    1) Voters will first have to vote out and then in, enough people who will actively work to change either the law or the leadership. 2) THEN that leadership will have to change the composition of the Super Congress.  And 3) THEN the Super Congress will have to act in the interests of the people despite all the "influence" being thrown at it.

The first part is iffy.  The second is highly unlikely if only because of the uncertainty of chaos.  The third is, well, nobody's that strong.  So by the time success is realized at step one, it is totally diffused at step two, and ignorable without consequence at step three.

And then there's the parallel and wildly discrepant timeframes for mass mobilization for change to do the people's will, and the stroke of the pen to eviscerate social programs (with little recourse).

Yeah, this is the worst possible "solution" to an imaginary problem.  All brought about by Obama's lack of adamancy about not taking the glaringly obvious political path of a clean debt bill.  It almost smacks of the intentional leading to the irreversible. :(

      This...

      Should be this...

Putting Congress as a buffer between these 12 is a masterstroke of campaign financing solicitation on the front end, for the 12, and leadership who will be "courted" to make sure the "right" people are on the Super Congress.  On the back end, it is a masterstroke of isolation from voter anger.  Heads they win.  Tails we lose.
