  •  Human husbandry is the exploitation of (6+ / 0-)

humans by their own kind to their detriment.  The prison industry is one variety.  Higher education and training that imposes debts and provides no practical skills or useful information is another.  Charter school programs is human husbandry moving into primary education.  Then there's the foster care system which exploits bad parenting by people who aren't paid enough to sustain themselves and their off-spring. At the other end of the age distribution, we have elder care and medical technology keeping people "alive" to extract the last ounce of profit from their misery.

Of course, human husbandry is, in a sense, a kinder/gentler version of the age old antagonism that led the Sons of Cain to simply dispatch any of their own kind they didn't find useful or like. Deprivation (of sustenance and rights) is, arguably, better than extermination -- mostly because exterminated humans can't contribute to society.
