  •  Not even close to the same in my opinion... (0+ / 0-)

with regard to the people involved and the destruction caused.

This BBC article offers 10 competing explanations, and NONE is analogous to the Israeli situation.

Hope you understand what I said, but if not, it may not be my inarticulation, but your predisposition.

Made explicit: Israel is not the U.K.

Made explicit: social welfare cuts in Israel have made many of Israel's most vulnerable quite desperate.

Made explicit: the demolition in tent encampments in Israel could bring about more violent protesting. Not looting.

I'm "THE" Troubadour," and not "Troubadour" without the article. We're different people here at DK :)

      •  I did read the diary, which begins... (0+ / 0-)

        with a comparison.

When the most desperate segments of society crack under the weight of expectations unmet or the utter lack of expectations altogether, the social fabric begins to come apart at the seams.

Some say we are witnessing such a moment in the UK.

My fear is that such a moment is about to engulf Israel in a way that could have troubling consequences for Israelis, Palestinians, and the region at large

It is debatable whether or not the situation in the UK was due to "desperate segments" and it certainly is unlike Israel, though you DID draw a parallel, even if you say otherwise.

Hope you understand what I said, but if not, it may not be my inarticulation, but your predisposition.
