  •  so, i owe income tax and corporate tax now? (7+ / 0-)

rand paul wants all americans to be double taxed?!

I'm reading this book called The Swedish Social Democrats. Written by Herbert Tingsten in 1941 and finally published in English in 1973, a year before I was born. I love finding these jewels in my local used bookstore.

probably say that corporations shoudn't be taxed at all. Right now, it is a double tax.

This is something I could agree with if the revenue generated from corporate taxes was reapplied as increased capital gains and dividend taxes.

But of course doing this would limit our government's ability to incentivize corporations through the tax code like we do with personal income taxes (i.e. charity deductions, education deductions, etc.)

Try looking at things another way.

    •  Am I too big to fail? Can I get some TARP money? (5+ / 0-)

Rand Paul might be on to something here.  If we can get the Republicans to think about the rest of us like we were corporations, maybe they'd take their boots off the backs of our necks.

      •  I think I'll declare myself a corporation (2+ / 0-)

That would mean that all money coming in is revenue, all expenses are deductible and I'm sure we can find corporate loopholes that could mean I owe no taxes, just like the big guys.  If the IRS doesn't like that, then maybe we need to reverse the "decision" that corporations are people and money is speech.  If everyone did that, how quick would they change the laws?

        •  Better yet, I'll declare myself a Bank (3+ / 0-)

then I can get zero interest loans from the Fed that nobody expects to be repaid.  I think I could use a few $billion.  I'm not being greedy, am I?

You can borrow for bonuses only.
