    presuming i don't do those things nor have knowledge that they are being done.

    People pollute or cause injuries. In this example it sounds like employees of the company.

      The limited liability of a corporation means that, as an owner, you are liable only for amount of your investment.

      Without the limited liability, you would be liable for the harm caused by the corporation.  It would be irrelevant that you didn't do the harmful things or had no knowledge of them.
