    and others of their age group rank -- in presidential elections, the only time this is measured -- second-highest of all states in the country (behind only Minnesota) in turnout.  We have great GOTV -- again, in regular elections.

    That ought to be truly depressing about students in other states.

    Of course, what you and I see is that students don't get the message to get out to vote much in other elections, try and try as I also do to tell them who sets their tuition (state legislators, influenced a lot by the governor), who influences their everyday lives (state legislators and mayors and alderpersons affecting housing, rents, etc.).

    And yes, you and I also can only agree that past turnout rates ought not be used -- we will have to say this again and again -- in Wisconsin in 2012 for comparisons in such districts, because students and some others will be incredibly disenfranchised by recent changes in voter registration laws here aka voter suppression laws.
