Kerry, Clyburn, all wavering.  Something CT is going on.

Should a "progressive" Dem blog dwell in the safe zones of a lame party, or should it drive a lame party to break out? If it cant, should it break out?

Maybe they didn't sit around the table and say lets screw working people and ruin the Democrats election chances next year, but it surely looks like the Democratic members of the select committee ("super????" congress) are falling over each other to side with the Republicans.  In a diary here the other day that I don't think made the rec list, there was a video of Debbie Wasserman Schulz being asked about defending social security and medicare at the Iowa State fair and she repeatedly said that the Dems would look to find common ground with the Republicans, act responsibly, etc.  It smells to me like the fix is in, that there will be no significant tax increases, that there will be significant spending cuts and that the erosion of social security and medicare will begin.

Mainly becauze their base gives them no pain.

But my question... what is CT?

              "conspiracy theory".

Sometimes conspiracies are real.  It's usually blatantly obvious.  Like right now.  The conspirators usually advertise their plans.  Like right now.

They want the left to go wild, because they don't think we will follow through.

If you really want to put a line in the sand, the way to do it would be to line up primary challenges and say they will be executed if certain lines are crossed.

        Newsflash...it won't happen...

So here we are left with a hobson's choice...

If it doesn't happen, they should fucking watch out, because if the primary challenges don't happen, we're going to be witnessing the general repudiation of the entire political system.  Not looking forward to that, myself.
