who will assist in removing a few bricks from that wall?

Sure, the GOP will have a go at knocking it down, but just like when Bush tried to privatize SS, it will be held. The wall will be held in its weakened, compromised state because both parties, at the end of the day, dont want the day to end too drastically. They prefer to keep the masses fed just enough to keep them placated and distracted from the totality of the unraveling, which, by the way, includes the removal of those few bricks in social programs. But they dont want anything as drastic as no wall at all. That could really cause the boat to get rocked. Surely their uber lux lives (more wealth now than ever before in the hands of so few) can take the "hit" of some of us still sucking a few drops off the (paid into by us!) "public teat" (lol)

Progressives are, as their name suggests, ahead of the masses. It just is. So who in the world would expect us to crow about "achievements" that should be expected in a sane society? Nor should they expect progressive critics to ignore the really rotten things that are regressing us.

Maybe folks dont like it. But without us, you have no canary.

Good luck with those coal mines!

Should a "progressive" Dem blog dwell in the safe zones of a lame party, or should it drive a lame party to break out? If it cant, should it break out?

They want the progressive base, particularly, to alternately hold the idea that there are these great dangerous extremes and then conveniently submerge them when its "time" to put silly theatrics aside and get down to the mature practicalities of compromise governance of by and for the MIC and Wall Street. After all the furious dueling is done and the dust settles, we see what both parties accept as outcome. And for most of us, that sucks. Big time.

SS and Medicare will likewise be dealt with.
