  •  Yes I am supporting him, I'm a political person (0+ / 0-)

For you, it's just black and white.

For me the question is whether to support a flawed candidate who I believe can win and will help addresses why it is people still don't have basic services, and being pure and apolitical and not run the best candidate and electing  yet another (torture-loving) Tea Party person?

The answer is clear to me, I save the kids dying in the sewage.

That said, I don't certainly don't come to DK to look for validation and blessing as to whether or not I'm sufficiently ideological on this issue or that. So, if when I say"we", if that doesn't include some, that's fine with me.

Again, I see no plan. Without a plan, all we have is talk and the occasional event. I', looking for something long-term, something that will be sustained, something that is ready for the resistance and disagreement that is going to occur, and I don't see it.

    •  The people tortured because of Ricardo Sanchez, (7+ / 0-)

are real live human beings too. I am confident that Texans can find a winning Democratic candidate who did not authorize torture.

Don't people have to be educated about the issue before they understand how important it is ? The more people are educated on the effects of solitary confinement the more they begin to understand that things must change. The ACLU and other organizations have been working on this issue for years, but it is a long battle.

Torture is ALWAYS wrong, no matter who is inflicting it on whom.

      •  Plan or not? (0+ / 0-)

When there is a plan to do more than complain and lecture, then let me know. Meanwhile, we have an election to win, and we don't need the blessing of people who don't understand the issues of this state.

Best of luck with whatever you do.

Enjoy winning your "election".  You'll get some more torture if you win.

I don't understand why people like you do things like this, but I suppose I should read more Hannah Arendt.

Read pp. 1-7 of Krugman's _The Great Unraveling_ (available from Google Books). NOW.
