that love lorn Republicans are hoping for, maybe he will be. But, the person who never fails to blow my mind is Bachmann.

Nothing touches her, I keep thinking "that's it, she's out" and she just keeps on keeping on. On paper she should have been a Roman candle a long time ago but no, not Michelle. She just bounds right back. Scary.

    •  Her followers are loyal and paranoid, like her (3+ / 0-)

Attacks from the media and others just make them more loyal to her than ever. With that base of support in the GOP, it doesn't matter how crazy or stupid she gets, she can stay in it. Of course, were she to actually get the nomination, things change drastically...

It is my fondest hope that my girl Michele gets the Republican nomination. I'm rooting for her mightily.

I can't imagine anything that would do as much to ensure that the Dems take the WH and both houses of Congress. (Just think what it would be like for corporate money to be used against the Republican nominee.)

And to be perfectly honest, if the Republicans do somehow manage to win in 2012, I would much rather look at and listen to Bachmann for 4 years (or however long it takes her to be impeached and removed from office) than the swaggering good ol' boy Texan whose speech patterns make GW Bush sound like Sidney Poitier.
