issue a stay?  And also the reasons others have posted here--more publicity, exposure for Snyder, and more legal arguments for State Supreme Court to deal with.

    •  He's trying to avoid Wisconsin-type stuff. (0+ / 0-)

Basically, Sumi issued an injunction for a completely meritless challenge, thus causing a major and expensive fracas prior to the inevitable state supreme court ruling.

You're not supposed to grant injunctions for plaintiff's who have little chance of prevailing, but the temptation is quite large for politically-charged laws.

Meritless? Really? A case brought on a clear violation of the open meetings law is without merit?
Why were the defendants hiding then?

I'm afraid your slip is showing once again MGross.
Back under teh bridge with you!

        •  It was very clearly not a violation. (0+ / 0-)

They only got 4 votes in the State Supreme court because it was bitterly divided (and one of the justices is trying to get Prosser prosecuted right now.)

I argued such when it Sumi ruled originally, not that it was a particularly popular view around here.

          •  Why would you be popular around here? (0+ / 0-)

Your statement is bullshit. You don't even have your facts straight. Four votes on the WSC would've upheld Sumi.
Prosser didn't assault another Justice until after that ruling.

Please don't respond to me again. I have no interest in communicating with you further.

      •  A completely meritless challenge (0+ / 0-)

would not have been decided by single vote.  The decision would have been unanimous.

    •  and evidence entered in lower courts that can't (1+ / 0-)

be ignored while the state SC could choose not to allow it in if it goes directly to them.
The more info already collected on the effect of the law, the harder it is to pretend that everything's just fine with it.

If, in our efforts to win, we become as dishonest as our opponents on the right, we don't deserve to triumph.
