The Tea Baggers will hate the cuts to Social Security and to Medicare same as everyone else will.  The same Tea Baggers who carried signs saying "Keep your government hands off my Medicare" are not going to like Medicare cuts.

Obama's not cutting S/S and Medicare to placate them.  That idea is absurd.

Have you been paying the least bit of attention?  The GOP Tea Party that's in the House of Representatives is hell bent on the total destruction of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

The white haired tea baggers carrying those stupid signs are no more than useful idiots for the corporatist GOP Tea Party that's really running the show.  By the time the Rascal-riding baggers wise up, it'll be too late.

And I didn't say I agreed with Obama's approach - just that he sees himself as a firefighter trying to contain an out of control blaze (the GOP Tea Party firestarters).

Tea Party manifesto: We're resigned to our collective fate because we don't want no stinkin' collective future with the likes of you

      •  The Planet Where Your Obama Fantasy FAILS (0+ / 0-)

Its funny how many people still cling to the "11 dimensional chess" fantasy.

Your excuse for Obama's failure to fight, and his continued caving to the tea baggers, is that by conceeding issues to them, Obama is implementing his plan to prevent the tea baggers from causing larger harms.

You can believe that Obama is actually fighting the tea baggers by--wait for it---going tea bagger and doing what they want.  However, your theory fails when Obama intends to do something they don't want---which is to cut Social Security and Medicare.

Obama, and Obama alone put those cuts on the table, and it was the teabagger GOP that refused to go for them.  Some 11th dimentional chess there, causing greater harms to the social safety net than even the tea bagger led GOP wants to prevent the teabaggers from causing greater harms to the social safety net.  It's utter nonsense, that's what it is.
