  •  The ACA's capacity to rein in Medicare costs (16+ / 0-)

    is precisely why the GOP is so vehemently opposed to it.  Their interest is not the fiscal health of the United States, but the removal of government as much as possible from the economy.  I'm talking here about the Paul Ryan wing of the party, not the Tea Partiers and not the Paulite libertarians.

    The fiscal crisis gives them the opportunity to achieve a long-sought goal, the evisceration of the public health system.  The ACA rescues that system and restores it to a solid fiscal footing.

    Of course the GOP wants to repeal it!
