  •  it doesn't work that way (0+ / 0-)

it doesn't come "Free." it comes from leadership.

    •  It comes from a lot of things (8+ / 0-)

If you were made President tomorrow nothing would be done to address climate change for two years minimum.

You want people who want to ban the EPA to address a problem caused by pollution? Get real.

I would make it a priority in my public addresses.

I would alert the nation to the catastrophe that is coming as we do nothing.

of course, I would never be president, but that's the approach that is needed.

Meanwhile, we had record rain here this week. JFK had the most rain recorded in one day on Monday iirc.

The President talks about climate change, he's not talking about jobs, or Republican obstruction, or the numerous wars and quasi-wars.

You would probably find yourself weighing the plusses and minuses. Your conclusions might be different than Obama's, but don't think you'd do everything he does PLUS flog climate change repeatedly.

          •  whatever. he's not getting it done. (0+ / 0-)

it's unfortunate that we have an emergency cutting into whatever else he wants to do. emergencies need to be dealt with.

it's like, "yeah, you might run out of the house when it's burning down, but you might want to finish your homework first."

i don't get that way of thinking at all.

          •  Benefits of addressing climate change... (0+ / 0-)

have to be made politically obvious to every candidate.  The way to find out what motivates candidates is trial and error.  I don't think "I support the Democratic Nominee good, bad or indifferent" is a motivator.

Look I get that Obama is the only option in 2012.  But I will not overlook or pretend his failings aren't there.
