  •  We're not at war. This is not a war. (6+ / 0-)

There is no U.S. "Libyan War of 2011". This is a provision of military support to one side in a civil war. For once, in Libya, Egypt, and now Syria, the US is doing good in the Middle East. For once Arabs everywhere are seeing that we aren't always assholes. This is not the Iraq War, and is in fact about as different as any military involvement can be.

    •  So you are ready to go into all African hot spots? (0+ / 0-)

Do you need a list of them?

How about Asian dictatorships, where rebels have been fighting against oppression for years and years?

Again, do you need a list?

an old woman across the street and yell at him or her "are you going to help ALL old people cross the street!"?  You should, if you want to be consistent with your rule that unless you can or will help in all cases, you shouldn't help in any.

It's nice to know that you would put such a silly rule in the way of actually doing a heroically good thing for people. It gives you an excuse for not ever doing anything to help anybody. Thank goodness we did not elect somebody like you.

because we can't arrest them all?

The US Constitution was written expressly to prevent one man from changing anything.

    •  Even the term civil war is a misnomer, (2+ / 0-)

is it presupposes substantial support amongst the populace for Gaddafi, which just plainly does not exist.

It's a revolutionary war of the people against a brutal, autocratic regime, its loyalists, and mercenaries.

someone could explain to me how someone could oppose what we did now that it is clear it was a huge success.
