President Obama beating Ron Paul by 2% and Michele Bachmann by 4%?

Does anyone think that would be the actual result if -- oh, please, please! -- one of these two unhinged loons managed to snag the GOP nomination?

Rick Perry is the flavor of the month. It won't last.

And Willard's been running for president now for about six years. This is the best he can do? Or, perhaps more accurately, 48% is the absolute best he can do.

How about I believe in the unlucky ones?

      See: Ronnie, Saint.

But the reality is this: Ronald Reagan had been elected governor of California and was almost the GOP nominee in 1976.

Anyone who took him lightly in 1980 was a total dumbass.

Ron Paul and Michele Bachmann, on the other hand, have never won anything outside a Congressional district, and Bachmann doesn't get re-elected by much.

It would be foolish, however, to dismiss Perry, Romney, or Huntsman out of hand, though I don't think the first two can beat Obama, and I doubt Huntsman can get the GOP nod.
