when Paul Krugman's connection to Enron was a popular topic, way back during Bush's first term, that Kristol, like Krugman, did consulting work for them in the late 1990s. (What he could possibly bring that nobody else could, I have no idea.) I always wondered if they simply had him write down his thoughts, thanked him as they were giving him a check, and then told their guys to do the opposite. I've heard of worse business strategies, you know?

A friend of mine who went to Princeton also said he was hands down the worst professor she had while she went there.  Did not care one bit about his students, only publicity.

to read ratemyprofessor.com or similar sites for famous people, but I always keep it in the back of my mind that those who gripe are usually the most likely to take to their keyboards.

Anyway, I can kind of see that. I mean, some people just don't relate well to students and don't interact particularly well with people in general. Some are just not good lecturers.

Don't ask me why, but I remember him saying once he didn't have a stable of former students like some people in his field and he always regretted it.

Also, did she have Krugman for an intro and/or bigger class, or was it for a seminar-style class?
