There is no doubt that nuclear power is something that would help us...our world...rid ourselves of petroleum-based energy sources.  I understand all of the people that are afraid of the problems that can/could/would happen with a nuclear "accident" with the nuclear energy plants.  I'm not saying here that these can't happen.

But, with the exponential progression of technology, I truly believe that nuclear is now and can be in our future the way our country should go to rid ourselves of oil/coal-based energy sources.  Yes, I know that there is wind and solar energy science that is progressing in a big way...but, not truly in a big way, honestly.  I read about European countries doing great with wind and solar...countries the size of North Carolina or West Virginia...and that doesn't really tell me anything.  I know first hand from my sources in California how horrible the windmills there are many problems they have with little they actually put in the "grid" there with regard to the costs for them.

Nuclear is suspect to some...but is viable to just so many.  I support more nuclear facilities and I know that's not popular here on Kos...and I know the spin and rhetoric that will be presented against it and FOR other energy sources that are unproven and not truly viable...

Nuclear...that's my choice to rid our country of our dependence on foreign oil.

Oh god...don't I know I'm gonna be trashed here for this
