      Some hold them on the same day, some hold them on different days. Doing the latter would seem to make a lot more sense, since I'm sure it saves money. But a lot of states want their presidential primaries early (in order to be "relevant") but their non-presidential primaries quite a bit later (so that people actually have time to campaign, or in the case of the super-late primaries, to protect incumbents).
