  •  I don't really think he considers us his base. (9+ / 0-)

I think we're "nice to have", but he probably thinks we're either going to vote for him or not vote at all.

I think he's working on courting the (likely larger than us) middle group who aren't interested in seeing any real change and want to run somewhere from the Right nutcases. These people will vote for someone, and he wants to give them reassurance that he's not going to do any leftward changes either. Losing these people is doubly bad because if he can't draw them into his circle, they'll go for a nutcase just because they feel they have to vote.

I... I can't make any sense of this. It's as if people think Obama was elected to run in in some kind of weird center-right direction, instead of, you know, LEFT. Universal Healthcare. Rolling back Bush policy. What the fuck people. What the fuck.

Adopting the theme of this diary, in 2008, we were sold AAA bonds w/ the political equivalent of a S&P seal of approval.  Over time, we've slowly but surely learned that we actually bought subprime toxic sludge.

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream of things that never were and ask why not?

Not only lost our entire investment, but it's like it keeps stealing from us.

I really have come to believe Obama is a smooth talking figure head, put in place by his bankster and Wall Street sponsors to do just what he's done- prevent a New Deal 2.0 and save their sorry asses from paying for their crimes. Indeed, Obama clearly supports diverting more of what's left of our meager wealth into the coffers of these monstrous fiends of greed.

Really, there comes a time when you have to understand that if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's duck, regardless of how painful that realization may be.

Obama is simply a crook, but a crook of the stripe that now rules America with impunity. We are all victims of these racketeers and we will continue to be just that until we are all paupers.
