Not here. On Baseline Scenario, Simon Johnson's blog. It's just one representative sample of sentiment.

No one who's paying attention these days has anything good to say about Obama. The issue is economics.

The right-wing has a very clear narrative about economics, which is that the problem was caused by too much debt and consumption, that makes a lot of sense.

The left has an unclear narrative. One day we're Paul Krugman pounding for more deficits to alleviate unemployment, the next day we're like this diarist trying to blame deficits on Bush.

      in terms of economics.

Check out my recent bumper sticker post.

It doesn't get any clearer than that.

Yeah, the "hippies" may be unclear about the narrative, which is why many of us are advising they get on board  the bus.

Otherwise their values may be left at the station while the rest of us work to re-elect Obama.

Trust me, you want to be part of his constituency. The alternative is either irrelevance or worse, Rick Perry. Obama honestly doesn't care if 600 online bloggers here and at your other website are going to be sensible or not. He'd love to have you, but there are millions of others he's more actively courting.

You haven't shown any evidence that you're actually paying attention. Your bumper sticker certainly doesn't. Have you heard of PPT?

I'm just a reasonable Obama supporter who knows what he's up against and has seen his victories despite it all.

It's actually the rest of you who aren't paying attention.

The stats on jobs is clear from 2008 to 2010. And from 2010 to now when Republicans won.

If you can't communicate it to people, that's your failure, not mine.

The first is addressed to those who see the rising debt as not only an important problem but an imminent, urgent one.

The second is addressed to those who care about the underlying economy that will do more to address both the first issue and the imminent problems faced by many, many Americans.

And Bush's deficits were spent on wars, windfalls for big pharma and tax cuts for the rich - for the most part during economic smooth sailing.

Obama's deficits are of Bush's making, and the increased spending we've seen under Obama has largely been to help the bulk of Americans who are victims of Bush's economic policies try to make ends meet until we can pull ourselves back together.

Your apologetic attitude towards Bush and ill-considered use of highly connotative terms such as "neocon" and "neo-liberal" does little to further actual discussion of the issues.

Someone in a very expensive suit is at the front door and says he wants to foreclose on our democracy. Where should I tell him he can put his robosigning pen?

REPEAL the Telecomm Act & REVIEW this decision. NO journalist should be fired because their boss can't have the truth told.
