    And the only to find out is to run the project full speed @ hi volume. Economies of scale etc.

    Long Lake Project, is using bitumen, hydrofracking insitu. Producing nat gas to power the steaming process, the pilot project has been stuck in phase one for a while.

    most of the extraction energy comes from the resource itself, so it doesn't divert other energy from society.

    Could, in the future. Currently does not.

    The standard extraction process requires huge amounts of natural gas. Currently, the oil sands industry uses about 4% of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin natural gas production
