I got a new complaint! I'm sorry but i for one do no intend to roll over and go oh right you won. Fuck that shit. This is almost as annoying as the bots who say welcome to America, welcome to Cosco. Norm Chomsky always irritated the crap out of me, ivory tower old rich academic  white dudes that pontificate about how we have no power, we lost . This is useless whining. Grid your loins and face the music. Nothing is 'inevitable' and lost is a concept that means you are a surrender monkey. This is not settled it is ongoing always and forever. Nothing is inevitable and politics are not static. If they were Obama would not have won.

You underestimate we the people in all our fractious blindness. We will keep moving forward as this latest assault on our progress can and will be defeated.

Who cares what banks may fail in Yonkers. Long as you've got a kiss that conquers.

and like Hedges he is right but had no solutions. Perhaps I just don't believe that this is inevitable and that the only reality available is built on the bogus configuration that is now defining the battle. Politics are not static, the winners and losers are not defined by the current powers that be. It's up to us to us the people to define what we consent to.

Fine, Hedges says all is lost and who is he? a wanker who defines victory as the bogus rules of engagement that the elite set down? Pardon my rave but I'm a prole  and do not believe in any thing these arbitrators  of the ivy league white male upper class twits have to say. Their fight is not for the people it's irrelevant to reality and purely academic. History will move this on and it won't be Chomsky or Hedges manning the barricades. they play by the other sides rules of engagements and define winning or losing on their terms. btw I really did not like the official left in my youth either Eugene McCarthy left me cold. I did not bother to vote for him.

he was one of the few that stood up & clearly said the iraq invasion was dead wrong & why. he wasn't called an elitist wanker then, i believe he was called a traitor.
i didn't read his post as saying things were inevitable, rather, he said things were done & resistance should be total. it's a harsh analysis, but  dude has a nasty habit of being correct.

we the people should do? Or does he just suggest we should accept this obscene status quo. I llike Naomi Klein's assessment better she gad a better ending a way forward to cop their rhetoric. look to the places that resist and create community that says fuck you. SA gives me hope. anonymous gives me hope my city gives me hope not just hope but a way to fight this obscenity disguised as a democracy. I think people can and will prevail. they go too far they always do and people stand up when they have no means to parliamentary relief.   they find a way. sorry to go off but all is lost is only if you have something worth losing and we the people globally at this point have lost anything worthwhile. Withdrawing consent is all we have left, that works globally. these fuckers are going down.

His name is "Noam".   That went right by you, didn't it?

For all that, no way is Chomsky the kind of gloom merchant that Hedges is.  OTOH, who did you vote for in '68?

The '60s were simply an attempt to get the 21st Century started early....Well, what are we waiting for? There's no deadline on a dream!
