There's a lot of good in the ACA, and there's millions who are getting a boost from it.
It's highly complex and involves every state in different ways.
It's a solid start on a long process.
The reason we could not just cold turkey go to single payer is because the insurance industry is well embedded in the economy thru Wall Street.
Thousands of Americans have 401 ks or other hard earned investments in Wall Street.
To destroy the insurance industry, besides starting a virtual civil war, and guaranteeing just one term for the Pres, and the death of the Dem. party, would have plunged the country into a true depression.
Single payer will eventually replace private health insurance for the majority of Americans. Or at least we'll have Medicare for all , with the option of supplemental insurance if you can afford it.
I'm watching Trumka on tv right now. Labor and everyone else has finally started screaming about jobs.
I was screaming about jobs in 2009. We all should have been screaming about jobs then. We should have shouted down the tea party then. It's not all Obama's fault. He has a job to do. He's the President of the

    United
States . All of us. He's supposed to run the executive branch. Congress is supposed to pass legislation that the country needs. Congress failed, not the President.
