For the record, governors are limited to one term in Virginia.

McDonnell is looking to be either a VP candidate in 2012, or seek the top job himself in 2016.

(Personally, I believe it will be the latter. )

You cannot get votes from Northern Virgina (right outside of DC) and be anti-government. You can't do it.
We're already in danger of losing our AAA Bond status thanks to TPers.  They are persona non grata in the 5-million strong DMV region.  (District-Maryland-Virginia).

Rep Gerry Connolly pretty much eviscerated his opponent in 2010 with this. Baggers -- whatever office they seek -- will NOT get votes up here.

Insult corn, you can't get votes in Iowa
Insult cattle, you can't votes in Texas.
Insult government you can't get votes here.

Look at Maryland -- they couldn't beat O'Malley, (even though he was dragged down by the state deficit)  and they couldn't touch Milkuski's senate seat. And Ben Cardin, while not as invincible as Milkuski is, so far, facing little real comp.

Just taking Montgomery, Howard and PG counties alone into account, (and the $$$ that flows from the government that sustains so many in the area -- including myself) the crazier the TPers get, the bluer this entire area is going to get.
