      He can't beat Bachmann and Perry on crazy.  They're born to play (or be) crazy.

      So he has to appeal to the other power in the GOP, the manipulative and authoritarian elite (MAE) - or as George W. Bush described them "the haves and have-mores".  

      There are two "1%"s that matter in the Republican Party these days.

      The 1% who appear with tea bags tangling from their hats at the abortion clinic protest.

      The 1% who own most of this country and  would rather rule than be governed.  

      Huntsman has obviously decided which 1% is going to be his base (following the lead of a Texan who actually did get elected.)  Perry is still angling for both.  We'll see if he's got the reach.

      Someone in a very expensive suit is at the front door and says he wants to foreclose on our democracy. Where should I tell him he can put his robosigning pen?
