The tone of this article suggests that egg freezing is dangerous simply because it's untested and hasn't been done before. If egg freezing is untested, then it should be tested more. Period. A lack of testing is not an argument against it. Unfortunately, the society we live in does punish women economically and professionally for having children at an early stage in their careers. It's all well and good to say that the society needs to change, not the technology, but in the meantime egg freezing presents a very promising option to women who (for whatever reason) are reaching the ends of their prime reproductive years (years that are, unfortunately, MUCH shorter for women than for men) and still wish to have children.
The author's comments about the dangers of egg retrieval procedures, too, are hugely overblown. IVF is a procedure used globally for 30+ years to help infertile couples have children, and serious risks are very, very remote.
The Frankenstian tone of the article is really a kind of anti-feminist techno-phobia.
