  •  When can we primary Thomas Menino? (0+ / 0-)

When is Thomas Menino, the Democratic mayor of Boston, up for re-election and who can Progressives run against him?

If you need to ask that question, I assume you don't live in Boston. In that case, what do you know about Mayor Menino's progressivism? I think the very large majority of Boston progressives are happy with him, so I suspect that would be a lost cause for you.

      •  On the other hand, Scott Brown is in your future (0+ / 0-)

according to your mayor that you're very happy with. And that sounds like a lost cause for you.  I'd suggest that the "very large majority of Boston progressives" rethink their support of a guy who wants Scott Brown, or if who he doesn't wnat him, has just made a very foolish statement.

And of course I'm outside of Boston or I wouldn't have asked at all - don't be such a jerk.

But it indeed sounds like the Scott Brown supporting Progressives in Boston like Menino are pretty confused, at least from viewed from the outside.

So enjoy Scott Brown. We'll stay out of it and let you enjoy it :)

        •  Why the anger? (0+ / 0-)

Why are you personalizing this? You yourself admit you're not a resident. Menino is commenting on the political culture in Massachusetts, especially in the Greater Boston area.

And you instantly go ballistic and insulting.

I think cordobes isn't the one who's confused here.

          •  Sorry if it came off that way (0+ / 0-)

... and if I was out of bounds. Really I am.

As I said to you in another comment, if it was Governor or something like that, I guess you can all do  what you want. But when a guy you tell me is a Progressive is making public statements against someone who appears to be a solid Progressive or at least Liberal, and in favor of Scott Brown, well it just doesn't sit right.

The only way it affects me personally, is that I have to live with one more Republican in the Senate, in Ted Kennedy's seat.

            •  Again, (0+ / 0-)

Menino was commenting on the political reality on the ground here in MA. He said nothing about Brown except about his tactics.

But thank you for the apology, even if you had to qualify it!

      •  There's a Republcian in Ted Kennedy's seat. Why? (0+ / 0-)

Now as you point out, I'm outside of Boston and outside of Mass. But there's a Republican in Ted Kennedy's state. Why did that happen?  From what us outsiders have heard, their was fighting amongst Dems and Dems didn't go all out for the Democratic candidate.  Now if something else happened, please inform. But to an outsider, I have to wonder what was Menino's role in that, and is he duplicting that mistake now? Is he just going to shrug and not care much about who wins?  Because if so, that is bad news "from the outside."
